Your future role Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of our operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (maintenance, operations, and logistics), perform tasks such as FLT driving, sanding, fuelling, system top-ups, and general depot duties, and take on responsibilities such as fault finding, preventative maintenance, and mentoring others, and much more." We’ll look to you for: General depot duties, e.g., Line of Routes. Chlorinating water points. Primary fault finding/reporting. Basic maintenance competency, e.g.:- side skirt cleans, brake pads, block changes, etc. Gritting of walkways in severe weather conditions and/or exceptional circumstances. DMU service exams. Depot cleaning/general housekeeping. Driving company vehicles if certified. Taking of fuel meter readings off rail vehicles. Train cleaning by exception. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role: Experience or understanding of maintenance tasks, including preventative and corrective maintenance. Knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, plumbing, and coach repairing. Familiarity with depot operations, such as fuelling, sanding, and system top-ups. A certification or communication skill in: FLT Driving certification or the ability to mentor others effectively. Basic fault-finding and reporting skills. Competency in using systems like Alista, SAP, and SES. Ability to perform general depot duties, including cleaning and housekeeping. Adaptability to work in severe weather conditions, such as gritting walkways. Strong teamwork and leadership skills with a continuous learning mindset.
