Hours: Full time, 37.5 hrs per week across seven days, Permanent position with full and part time hours available, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Imaging Department as Imaging Assistants.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and expanding service. We recently opened our new Scanning Centre in May 2026 and continue to provide diagnostic services through our Community Diagnostic Centres at Lloyds Court and Whitehouse Park.'We care We communicate We collaborate We contribute'

Main duties of the job
As an Imaging Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their diagnostic journey and assisting the clinical team in delivering high-quality care.The successful candidate will be responsible for:o Safely transporting patients to and from Imaging departments.o Providing high-quality care and support throughout the patient's imaging journey.o Assisting within a variety of imaging modalities, including Ultrasound, CT and MRI.o Undertaking housekeeping and administrative duties to support departmental functions.We are committed to supporting your development and offer:o A comprehensive induction programme.o Training in venepuncture and cannulation.o Support to complete the Care Certificate.As this role requires travel between multiple sites, a full driving licence and access to transport are essential.We look forward to receiving your application.

Working Pattern
Working 12-hour (08:00-20:00) non-consecutive shifts across a 7 days per week, 24-hour service
Main duties and responsibilities
To work across all modalities within Imaging such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Xray, Mobile Xray, Theatres, A&E, Interventional Radiology, and Fluoroscopy
Perform intermediate clinical procedures, cannulation, as delegated by a registered professional.
To study for and complete the Fundamentals of Care Certificate if new to healthcare and apply your learned skills to benefit the department.

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge Essential
Broad education to include Grade C GCSE (Equivalent in English and Mathematics) Basic knowledge of a Radiology Department
Desirable
GCSE (or equivalent) in science subject Proven record of continued learning NVQ in healthcare Basic knowledge of NHS structure
Experience Essential
Experience in patient or client facing care
Desirable
Experience of working in the NHS or within an imaging department or within a multidisciplinary team in a clinical setting Previous work as an HCA or similar
