About this role

Job summary

The Charity Brand Manager is a critical role in the charity and will be responsible for owning, developing, and strategically sharing Velindre Charity's brand and messaging via multiple marketing and communication channels.

You will be responsible for embedding a cohesive and engaging brand identity to create memorable and consistent branding and messaging across all touchpoints and content.

You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the online shop and merchandise/fashion opportunities.

Main duties of the job

Develop, maintain, and roll out Velindre Charity brand identity and messaging throughout multiple market routes. Including but not limited to social media, website, literature, charity newsletter, events, and campaigns. Protect the Velindre Charity brand, ensuring consistency and identifiability across all market streams, working with internal and external stakeholders monitoring the correct use of logos and messaging. Create and action the charities brand, digital and communications strategy, feeding into the overall charity objectives and growing the charity's reputation in the digital space. Lead a creative team in planning, delivering, and measuring effective projects to drive revenue and reach across multiple areas of the charity. Plan and manage Velindre Charity's digital presence to best reflect the charity, engage supporters and grow the charity's following. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, building relationships and capturing content to reflect the charities activities, values, and goals. Work with the Fundraising Team to market, recruit participants and promote charity events and products. Write influential copy aimed at different target audiences to engage and drive interest in charity activity and cause. Plan and roll charity marketing campaigns to raise awareness and funds for the charity, including the promotion of regular giving and legacies.

Job description Job responsibilities

Brand Management

Embed a cohesive and engaging brand identity to create memorable and consistent branding and messaging across all touchpoints and content. Create a brand tone-of-voice and share widely internally and externally. Develop our visual identity in a way which brings the cause and purpose to life in the most engaging way possible. Grow and manage brand and marketing assets and materials, including core brand literature, digital content, and promotion. Establish strong and relevant brand guidelines to be rolled out internally and externally ensuring our branding is always used correctly and only associated with appropriate causes. Create and launch new fundraising campaigns and initiative with their own branding that compliments the core brand identity of the charity. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for brand growth and differentiation. Manage brand partnerships with like-minded brands ensuring content effectively reflects the charitys values and contributes to the growth and strategy of Velindre Charity. Marketing, communications, social media and PR.

End to end management of marketing and comms plans to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard. Utilise the full mix of communications and marketing tools, including media and public relations, internal communications, brand marketing, advertising, campaigns, direct marketing, digital and social media and production of materials to publicly share Velindre Charity messaging, goals and CTAs. Create and support the design, production and dissemination of marketing and communications collateral. Produce high quality content for website, newsletters, including key messages and high-quality copy and information. Lead on website management ensuring all content is up to date and accurate across the Velindre Fundraising website. Develop key stories to be used across channels that communicate the brand values, aims and objectives of the Charity. Manage reactive and proactive media activity, including key charity dates, relevant international days and campaigns. Be a key point of contact for supporters, ensuring they are kept informed with charity activities via a range of marketing and comms platforms. Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Relationships, and Donor Development and Marketing Manager to establish marketing and comms plans for event promotion and stewardship. Create and manage a bank of core content (media, website and literature) that effectively relays the charitys purpose to fundraisers. Manage internal communication via the charity to the wider trust via NHS intranet and all staff mailings. Work with and onboard charitys approved third parties to oversee the creation and delivery of marketing assets and artwork, adhering to our brand style and tone of voice. Keep up to date with relevant market trends by adapting and developing the charities content to stay relevant within the field. Work alongside the Donor Development Manager to create support journeys for all of the charitys income streams, reviewing regularly and ensuring they are kept up-to-date. Manage and respond to any touchpoints across digital channels including comments, direct messages, and shared mailboxes. Provide high-quality stewardship through digital and traditional media channels, ensuring donors are informed and feel appreciated for their work with the charity. Performance, Analysis, Insights and CRM Responsibility:

Frequently track the performance of content via website and social media analytics and develop content based on results to maximise reach. Reach out to supporters, ambassadors, and patrons to collect feedback and continually improve our brand and digital presence. Produce monthly analytics and reports to shape the social strategy and make recommendations for optimising content by channel and audience. Work closely with the Donor Development and Marketing Manager to identify key audiences within the community and digital fields. Ensure CRM is kept up to date daily with any supporter communications, information, and preferences. Relationship Management

You will spend time focused on bringing in new donors, supporters and assets, building and sustaining long-term relationships. Develop and maintain strong relationships with fundraisers, ambassadors, patrons and high value donors. You will manage fundraisers, ambassadors, patrons and high value donor expectations on matters aligned to the charity. With the Head of Fundraising and Relationships, act as a dedicated point of contact for high value donors and supporters. You will work with Leadership team to organise and create digital content for events and activities to foster a strong sense of community and appreciation among donors. Build relationships with new and existing supporters, content creators, brands and media providers. Develop and maintain strong internal relationships with comms team and charity benefactors to collaborate on content. Managerial and Administration:

Deliver excellence in Creative Team Management. Ensure that all donors are professionally engaged and developed through the delivered content. Set up meetings as requested for the Director and if appropriate Team Members. Ensure calls are answered and messages are passed on immediately and office email queries actioned daily. Manage CRM content, collate information and data and produce reports. Ensure donors' information is entered onto CRM on a daily basis so that no backlog builds up. Assess and identify new opportunities for growth in current and prospective markets. Recruit and train new employees. Perform regular system, process, and employee evaluations to determine areas of improvement and where necessary implement performance improvement measures. Lead our creative team, ensuring there is a clear direction of travel, an understanding of purpose and an exemplary culture embedded to drive future success. Line manage the Social Media Executive and Content Executive. Manage expenditure across all projects and campaigns in line with agreed expenditure budgets. Effective reporting as required in line with agreed objectives and KPIs. Ensure that the recording of permissions and consents is adhered to in line with our policies and procedures and in accordance with GDPR. Other Responsibilities

Remain abreast of market trends and opportunities including AI, providing regular insights to the Charity senior leadership team for planning and delivery where appropriate. Manage and oversee all aspects of the online shop including its look and feel, accuracy, e-commerce links. Via your team you will ensure the online shop is branded, designed, and targeted at relevant audiences. With support you will lead the merchandise design and procurement, recognising and acting upon merchandise/fashion opportunities. Key member of the Fundraising Leadership team. Select, negotiate and manage contracts with external suppliers. Keep up to date with fundraising compliancy and other sector trends and developments. Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

Educated to a Degree level or demonstrable qualifications, knowledge and/or experience in donor/volunteer development/fundraising/charity work. Previous experience in marketing, promotion and/or communications. Detailed understanding and management experience of Charity regulatory compliance requirements. Project management experience. Qualification in Marketing and/or Promotion at Diploma level or demonstrable experience and knowledge in a marketing/promotion setting.

Substantial fundraising management experience including planning, evaluating, and delivering successful events and projects, that drive effective income activity outcomes. Strong project management skills. Experience of leading and motivating a high performing teams. Strong external and internal stakeholder management experience Proactive 'can do' attitude coupled with a demonstrable track record of developing technical processes for new fundraising activities. Experience of planning, scheduling, allocating and evaluating work carried out by teams, individuals and self. Proven ability to think and act strategically, planning and evaluating activity and opportunities within the context of the wider programme as well as individually. Ability to translate concepts into effective action plans. Experience of managing the interface with corporate communication teams and negotiating strong commercial messaging and outcomes. Experience of appraising new ideas and proposals and making decisions to test (or not) as appropriate. Proven experience of effective marketing campaigns and brand development. Ability to identify, create and edit strong marketing content. Experience of using digital platforms such as email marketing platforms, content management systems and analytics platforms. Experience of working within an environment of constant change, often working to very tight deadlines and potentially changing priorities. Highly IT literate - proficient in use of Microsoft Office and digital design software.
