The Children and Young People's (CYPS) Directorate in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Practitioner Psychologist to lead psychology in Mindworks North Community Hub. You will be joining a well-established and supportive multi-disciplinary children's mental health team based in Chertsey. The role is part-time (30 hours).Working closely with the service manager, you will lead on psychology services in the team. You will work alongside the CYPS psychology leads to develop accessible and inclusive psychology services for children and young people across Surrey.The post-holder will have substantial experience working in children's mental health services with children with complex needs and of managing high levels of risk. They will have experience of adapting interventions to work with neurodiversity. Knowledge and skills in supervision and outcome measures is essential.The successful candidates will hold a Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and registration with the HCPC. Main duties of the job
To plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service in Mindworks Community Hub North and to oversee its clinical governance. To be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of psychologists within the Mindworks Community Hub North. To demonstrate highly specialist expertise and specialist psychological skills such as specialist psychological assessments, formulation, therapeutic interventions and consultation to support children and young people with complex mental health needs To lead in the supervision and contribute to Individual Performance Review/Appraisal of psychology staff, as required. To ensure that the healthcare needs of people using services are communicated to and work in partnership with service commissioners and other healthcare providers for the best outcomes. To advocate and represent the service. To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways. Contribute to appropriate staff recruitment and contribute to the wider strategic plans regarding psychology recruitment. To act as supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating and supporting pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements. To influence and develop team cultures that support and encourage innovation, creativity, partnership working and curiosity.
