This role supports the Dental Referral Co-ordinator with the day-to-day operation of the Dental Referrals Team within Oxfordshire Community Dental Service (OCDS) .
The post holder will help ensure referrals are processed smoothly and efficiently, while responding to queries from patients, carers and professionals.
They will also undertake a range of administrative duties to support the wider service, including the Senior Leadership Team.
The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
Handle confidential and complex enquiries from patients, carers, colleagues and external agencies in line with service procedures and Trust policies. Process and triage dental referrals promptly, monitor the shared mailbox and escalate breaches of the 12-week referral-to-assessment timeframe. Support the Dental Referral Co-ordinator with administrative improvements, EDI claims, the General Anaesthetic pathway and service finances, including outstanding patient charges. Maintain accurate electronic patient records, upload radiographs and process subject access requests while meeting information governance requirements. Liaise effectively with hospitals, Children's Services, safeguarding leads, senior clinicians and the Dental Senior Leadership Team. Support weekly performance reporting and produce high-quality documentation using appropriate Microsoft applications. Organise workload to meet deadlines, seek guidance when required and participate in individual and group supervision

Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements Essential
Proven experience of using Microsoft Office computer programs including Excel and Word. Managing multiple priorities such as balancing the demands of incoming calls, walk-in patients, and daily administrative duties.

Previous experience of working in a dental environment.
Education & Qualifications Essential
Good standard of education with excellent numeracy and literacy.

Previous experience of working with Dental Software.
