Job PurposeTo provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical care to the registered practice population, delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based services while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesProvide comprehensive medical services to patients presenting with undifferentiated and diagnosed conditions.Undertake same-day and routine consultations, both face-to-face and remotely.Assess, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and refer patients as appropriate.Conduct home visits when required.Manage acute and chronic medical conditions in line with national and local guidelines.Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.Participate in safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.Promote health education and disease prevention.PrescribingPrescribe medicines in accordance with GMC guidance, NICE guidelines, and local prescribing policies.Undertake regular medication reviews.Work collaboratively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to optimise medicines management.Administrative ResponsibilitiesProcess laboratory results, hospital correspondence, and clinical documents.Complete referrals, reports, insurance forms, and other medical documentation within agreed timescales.Participate in reviewing and updating clinical protocols where required.Quality and GovernanceContribute to Quality Improvement activities and clinical audits.Participate in significant event reviews and learning activities.Support the achievement of QOF and other contractual requirements.Maintain awareness of current clinical guidance and best practice.Team WorkingWork collaboratively with practice nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, physician associates, and administrative staff.Attend clinical meetings, practice meetings, and educational events.Contribute positively to the development of practice services.Professional DevelopmentMaintain GMC registration and licence to practise.Participate in annual appraisal and revalidation requirements.Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required.Person SpecificationEssential CriteriaFully qualified General Practitioner.GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List.MRCGP or equivalent.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to high standards of patient care.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Desirable CriteriaExperience of NHS General Practice.Interest in a specialist area such as diabetes, women's health, minor surgery, care of the elderly, mental health, or education/training.Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement.Working PatternFlexible sessions available.Participation in practice meetings and training sessions.No out-of-hours commitment unless otherwise agreed.SalaryCompetitive and dependent on experience, in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement. Working Pattern Flexible working arrangements where possible.

Works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract.

Qualifications Essential

Fully qualified General Practitioner. GMC Registration with Licence to Practise. Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List. MRCGP or equivalent. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to high standards of patient care. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Desirable

Experience of NHS General Practice. Interest in a specialist area such as diabetes, women's health, minor surgery, care of the elderly, or education/training. Experience of clinical audit and quality improvement.
