Job summary
Lanfranc Medical Centre is looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive primary care team on a part-time basis for 10 hours per week.
The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to our patient population and will work collaboratively with GPs, Healthcare Assistants and the wider practice team to provide safe, effective and patient-centred clinical services.
We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse with strong clinical skills who is able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a range of general practice nursing services, including:
Chronic disease management, including reviews for diabetes, asthma, COPD and hypertensionCervical screening/cytologyChildhood and adult immunisations and vaccinationsAdministration of medications, vaccinations and injections in accordance with relevant protocols and guidelinesWound care and dressingsVenepuncture and other routine clinical proceduresNHS Health ChecksHealth promotion, lifestyle advice and patient educationMaintaining accurate, clear and contemporaneous clinical recordsSupporting infection prevention and control, clinical governance and quality improvementWorking collaboratively with GPs, Healthcare Assistants and the wider multidisciplinary teamUndertaking other appropriate Practice Nurse duties in accordance with competency, training and the needs of the practice

The post holder will be expected to:
Clinical Care
Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care within their professional competence.Undertake chronic disease reviews and support patients in managing long-term health conditions.Undertake cervical screening in accordance with current national guidance and practice procedures.Administer childhood and adult immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with current guidelines and authorised protocols.Undertake wound assessment, wound care and dressings.Undertake venepuncture and other appropriate clinical procedures.Carry out NHS Health Checks and provide appropriate health promotion and lifestyle advice.Administer medications and injections safely and appropriately within the post holder's professional competence.Recognise situations requiring referral to, or advice from, a GP or other appropriate healthcare professional.Patient Care

Experience Essential
* Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within General Practice / Primary Care * Experience of delivering immunisations and vaccinations * Experience of cervical screening * Experience in the management of long-term conditions * Experience in wound care and general treatment-room nursing
Desirable
* Experience using EMIS Web or another GP clinical system * Experience of NHS Health Checks * Experience in travel health
Additional Information Essential
Experienced Practice Nurse required for 10 hours per week Lanfranc Medical Centre is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team for 10 hours per week. The successful candidate will have previous General Practice experience and be competent in chronic disease management, cervical screening, immunisations and vaccinations, wound care and other core Practice Nurse duties. Salary depending on experience.
