About this role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management (HIM) Technician to support medical records operations within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for preparing, scanning, indexing, retrieving, and maintaining patient documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established medical records procedures. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, has strong organizational skills, and demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.Responsibilities
• Prepare, organize, and scan paper medical records into the electronic medical record (EMR) system. • Review scanned documents for quality, accuracy, and completeness. • Index and file documents correctly within patient records. • Retrieve medical records and documentation as requested. • Reconcile accounts and ensure documentation is accurately matched and processed. • Answer incoming calls and assist with medical records-related inquiries. • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. • Perform clerical and technical duties related to health information management processes. • Ensure documents are organized in proper sequential order and meet department standards. Skills and Quailfications: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience with data entry and document management.Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and medical records processes preferred.Proficiency with standard computer applications and office equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anderson, IN 46016. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
