About this role
We are seeking a Security Architect to support a growing portfolio of artificial intelligence and emerging technology initiatives. This individual will work alongside security architects to evaluate solution designs, identify security requirements and risks, develop security architecture, and help teams navigate security review and approval processes.This is a hands-on security architecture role. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in security architecture, is comfortable working across multiple techKey Responsibilities:• Provide security architecture support for AI, agentic AI, cloud, SaaS, andother emerging technology initiatives.• Review solution architectures, data flows, integrations, and technicaldesigns to identify security requirements and risks.• Translate security policies, standards, and control requirements intopractical technical guidance.• Develop and document security architecture, including diagrams, securityrequirements, design recommendations, and reusable patterns.• Perform and support threat modeling and security design reviews.• Evaluate identity and access management, authentication and authorization,data protection, network security, API security, application security, logging,monitoring, secrets management, and related security considerations.• Partner with engineering teams, enterprise architects, IAM, data protection,security operations, application security, and other Cyber teams to resolvearchitecture questions.• Support initiatives through architecture governance and security reviewprocesses, including documenting findings and tracking issues throughresolution.• Help develop reusable reference architectures, patterns, guardrails, andtechnical guidance.• Research emerging technologies and security capabilities and providepractical recommendations.• Manage multiple concurrent architecture engagements and proactively driveassigned work to completion.Required Qualifications:• Experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, technology architecture,engineering, or a related discipline.• Practical experience performing security architecture or security designreviews.• Strong understanding of core security concepts, including:o Identity and access managemento Authentication and authorizationo Data protection and encryptiono Network and cloud securityo API and application securityo Logging, monitoring, and detectiono Secrets and credential management• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.• Ability to read and evaluate architecture and data-flow diagrams.• Ability to translate security requirements into actionable technicalrecommendations.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to work effectively across engineering, architecture, cybersecurity,and business teams.• Ability to independently organize ambiguous problems, coordinatestakeholders, and drive issues through resolution.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with AI/ML platforms, generative AI, large language modelapplications, or agentic AI.• Familiarity with AI security topics such as prompt injection, sensitive dataexposure, AI identities, RAG, MCP, model access, and AI observability.• Experience with Microsoft Azure AI services, Microsoft Copilot technologies,Power Platform, or similar enterprise AI platforms.• Experience developing reference architectures or reusable security patterns.• Experience with threat-modeling methodologies.• Experience working in a regulated financial services environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
