Job Family Description: Project management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.
Discipline Description: Program managers are responsible for managing organization activities and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. They perform the tasks and responsibilities associated with ongoing work efforts and oversee multiple related projects or initiatives within the organization. Program managers coordinate resources, timelines, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet quality standards and drive overall success.
Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:: The DOE/NNSA Office of Stockpile Management (NA 12) plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. NA 12’s mission areas include Stockpile Sustainment, Production Operations, Stockpile Modernization, Nuclear Enterprise Assurance, and Stockpile Services. These functions collectively support the ongoing stewardship and modernization of the nation’s nuclear deterrent. The Stockpile Management Program Manager provides strategic leadership across multiple functional teams, managers and professional staff with accountability for performance and results, while developing departmental plans and priorities where decisions are guided by resource availability and organizational objectives. In addition, this is a liaison role and is responsible for interfacing and communicating between local and Headquarter Federal personnel and SRNS employees on all details relative to the Program being managed. Program Management is highly relationship-based; thus, oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and organization are important. The responsibilities of a Program Manager include, but are not limited to, interfacing with operations and engineering to understand facility scope, developing/tracking SRNS performance milestones; developing presentations and communiques for stakeholders detailing funding requirements, scope and schedule; developing five-year and annual budgets; understanding variances between current year budget vs. actuals; and monthly and annual reporting to internal and external stakeholders. Travel is required.
Qualifications • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities. • Experience with program management, budgeting, and reporting in a technical or highly regulated environment preferred.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field • Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered • Q Clearance • Bachelor Degree (technical discipline preferred) • Excellent Communication skills in all formats • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external colleagues. • Travel is required

Security Clearance Information: SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
