Grants Compliance Officer
Summary: Provides administrative analysis, post-award services, and oversight to ensure compliance with grant requirements; serves as a resource and point of contact for finance staff and managers of grant-funded programs; develops data collection and training materials; conducts training programs; prepares information and reports for internal and external stakeholders; and ensures that grant information in the system's databases is accurate and complete.
Qualifications: Required
• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field, with course work in finance, accounting, budget analysis, or a related field. • Four (4) years of experience in grants administration. • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
• Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the theory, methods, and principles of fiscal management, as well as the federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements that govern grant administration. • Ability to explain relevant issues and train other staff members. • Ability to conduct research and collect documentation independently. • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Preferred
• Master's degree.
Major Duties/Essential Functions: • Maintains grant files and documentation as required by various grantmakers. • Maintains the internal grant tracking database. • Conducts monthly monitoring meetings. • Provides training, oversight, and support for the preparation of reports and documentation required under various grants. • Conducts spot checks to ensure that grants are being tracked correctly in FAMIS and Great Plains. • Monitors in-kind obligations. • Develops materials to facilitate grant compliance. • Reviews fiscal and performance activities to ensure compliance with statutory, grant, and contract requirements. • Reviews the list of disbarred vendors and ensures compliance with purchasing regulations. • Ensures the proper labeling, maintenance, and disposition of inventory purchased with grant funds. • May request that a grant-funded program is temporarily or permanently halted. • Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements: This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
