Paralegal II
Job Description: Legal Department paralegal with responsibility for assisting attorneys in all aspects of legal matter preparation and file management including legal research, drafting routine documents and collection of information relevant to cases. May conduct routine investigations and review and analyze various reports, responses and records. Responsible for performing a variety of projects to support the Legal Department on a wide range of legal functions. Ensures that legal services provided are cost-effective, practical, and consistent with the Company’s philosophies. Delivers on Legal Department business goals. Ensures that the Legal Department implements leading practices and operates at the highest level of ethical and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities: • Supporting attorneys with litigation matters and other legal and business unit personnel, as needed. • Filing court documents electronically and overseeing the electronic case management system. • Monitoring the service of complaints, subpoenas and other legal process. • Tracking the Company’s litigation caseload. • Drafting legal holds and managing the collection, review and productions of documents and electronically stored data. • Coordinating with business clients and assisting in investigating and gathering information about a matter and responding to discovery requests. • Drafting various correspondence and legal documents for review and use by attorneys. • Conducting legal research on various issues. • Categorizing, analyzing and interpreting data and preparing reports and charts regarding the Company’s litigation docket. • Suggesting and developing procedures for handling of matters to increase Legal Department efficiencies. • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Associate’s degree from an accredited college in the paralegal program or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred. Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience gained in an in-house or law firm environment required. • Superior organizational skills. • Strong interpersonal skills to conduct interviews and investigations and communicate with other attorneys, business partners and corporate personnel. • Knowledge of local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures. • Resourceful research and analytical skills and proficiency in Westlaw and Lexus Nexus online research. • Proficient with Relativity and other electronic document review platforms. • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel. • Experience with Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools and applications. • Experience with Legal Tracker or other electronic billing and case management systems. • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. • Ability to manage time and tasks effectively. • Able to maintain strict confidentiality. • High energy, drive and unquestioned integrity. • Must be able to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Salary range $80,000 - $85,000 this base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
