About this role
Primary Purpose: Servce as an interim/temporary administrator in any role: Director, Principal, Assistant Principal, etc. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Management
• Monitor instructional and managerial processes in the administrator's absence.
• Communicate and promote the expectation for high level performance from staff and students; recognize excellence and achievement.
• Facilitate effective and timely resolution of conflict.
• Work with faculty and students to implement the school's student management system to maintain an orderly school environment.
Student Growth and Development
• Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Serve as a role model for all campus staff.
Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management
• Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other documents required.
• Manage the use of school facilities. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus.
• Ensure that staff are implementing classroom environments that are conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Ensure that school rules are uniformly observed, and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the Student Handbook.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Leave notes or complete the approved substitute report form at the end of the workday.
• Report any accidents or incidents to the appropriate administrator.
Communication
• Communicate in a friendly, positive, and professional manner towards students, parents, and staff.
Professional Growth and Development
• Participate in substitute training and activities to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with all state, district, and school regulations and policies.
Other
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Direct the work of campus personnel
• Supervise students
Minimum Experience:
• Experience working as a principal or assistant principal in a public-school setting
Minimum Education/Certification:
• Master's degree required
• Texas Mid Management/Principal certification or other appropriate Texas certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
• Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to manage and direct student and staff behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Punctuality and dependability
Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); prolonged standing; frequent kneeling, squatting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting; frequent walking.
