POSITION: CUSTODIAN – 2nd SHIFT PART-TIME – 4 hours/day LOCATION: DISTRICT-WIDE EFFECTIVE DATE: IMMEDIATELY COMPENSATION: PER AGREEMENT w/ RTM BUS DRIVERS/CUSTODIAL MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION - $25.50/hour Rose Tree Media School District seeks a dependable and hardworking Second Shift Custodian to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments for our students and staff. The Custodian performs routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout District facilities, assists with maintaining the appearance and condition of classrooms and common areas, and helps ensure that buildings are properly secured at the end of the day. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is dependable and attentive to detail, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team. This position requires someone who understands that a well-maintained school environment contributes to the success of students and staff. QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned responsibilities efficiently and thoroughly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with students, staff, administrators, and members of the public.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with custodial work.
• Dependable attendance and consistent attention to safety and established procedures.
• Current required background clearances.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs while performing custodial duties throughout District facilities. Duties may include moving furniture and equipment, handling cleaning supplies and materials, and operating custodial equipment. The ability to lift and carry materials and equipment consistent with assigned responsibilities is required. Work is performed primarily indoors, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
