About this role
Course Summary Creative makers will explore a variety of hands-on craft projects using different materials and techniques. Students will create seasonal decorations, personalized keepsakes, and imaginative DIY projects while developing creativity, fine motor skills, and artistic confidence. The session concludes with a Craft Showcase where families can celebrate student creations. Expected Hours (times vary): Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays: 2:15PM-3:45PM Wednesdays: 1:00PM-2:30PM Fridays: 3:30pm-4:30PM Essential Responsibilities
• Lead engaging, age-appropriate crafting activities.
• Teach a variety of crafting techniques and creative skills.
• Encourage creativity, imagination, and self-expression.
• Prepare and organize crafting supplies and materials.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment.
• Support students in completing projects independently and collaboratively.
• Monitor student participation and behavior.
• Display and organize student projects throughout the session.
• Coordinate and prepare projects for the end-of-session Craft Showcase.
• Communicate professionally with program staff, students, and families.
• Follow all program policies, safety procedures, and attendance requirements.
Preferred Experiences
• Experience in arts, crafts, design, education, or a related field.
• Experience teaching children in enrichment, camp, or classroom settings.
WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Active classroom and playground environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents and the display screen of various office equipment and machines;
• Ability to conduct verbal conversation and or training in English and, possibly, a designated language; Hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels);
• Sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend and walk; Sit for sustained periods of time;
• Lift up to 20 or more pounds; Carry up to 20 or more pounds;
• Exhibit full range of motion for shoulder external rotation and internal rotation, shoulder abduction and adduction, elbow flexion and extension, shoulder extension and flexion, back lateral flexion, hip flexion and extension and knee flexion;
• Operate office machines and equipment in a safe and effective manner;
• Manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard at the required speed and accuracy; and Conduct frequent repetitive arm, hand and body motion.
