New London Community School District is seeking a Special Education Associate to join our team. We are a small, rural school district where relationships matter, staff know their students, and people work together to support kids. Reports To: Building Principal Compensation: $14.50 per hour, may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience Hours: 7.75 hours per day, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch (7.25 paid hours per day) Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children preferred
• Dependable, patient, and able to work collaboratively with students and staff
• Willingness to support the individual needs of students
Primary Responsibilities:
• Work with individual students and small groups under the direction of teachers
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and daily living needs
• Assist students in general and special education settings
• Implement accommodations, behavior plans, and instructional supports as directed
• Assist with supervision during classrooms, lunch, recess, transitions, field trips, and other school activities
• Collect student data as directed
• Assist with personal care needs when required
• Maintain student confidentiality
• Participate in required training and professional learning
• Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands: This position may require prolonged standing and walking; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching; reaching and assisting students at varying heights; and occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to provide physical assistance to students as needed to safely perform the essential functions of the position. Benefits:
