About this role
Speech-Language Pathologist QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Valid N.Y.S. teaching certificate in the Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped/ Speech and Language Disabilities area QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York State (strongly preferred).
• Strong diagnostic abilities to assess individual students' communication skills and monitor progress using a variety of assessment tools.
• Desire and knowledge to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs.
• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff and students.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary academic teams in lesson and therapy planning.
• Knowledge of strategies to support the areas of literacy and writing.
• Comprehensive knowledge of therapy planning that incorporates diverse learning modalities and differentiated instructional outcomes; skilled in using assessments to guide and adjust individualized therapeutic approaches.
• Uses varied instructional methods and assessments to support:

• Flexibility and adaptability to support a wide range of student needs and collaborate across multiple classrooms and grade levels.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills for timely completion of IEPs, reports, and Medicaid billing
