About this role
Coaches, Winter Athletics 2026 -2027 School Year District Wide DESCRIPTION Provide coaching and support to student athletes and assistance to his/her designated supervisor(s). The coach will provide leadership, instruction, supervision, and guidance to student-athletes while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, academic responsibility, character development, and student safety. The coach is responsible for conducting practices and contests, supervising student-athletes, maintaining appropriate communication with the Athletic Department and families, and ensuring compliance with district, NJSIAA, league, and school policies and regulations. • Freshman Assistant Boys Basketball Coach
• Junior Varsity (JV) Assistant Boys Basketball Coach
• Middle School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Substitute Teaching Certificate
• Prior High School Coaching experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the applicable sport.
• Ability to effectively lead, instruct, and supervise high school student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, administration, coaches, athletic trainers, students, and families.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with the NJ FIRST Act
• Successful Criminal History Clearance
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.
Before beginning coaching, will be required to obtain the following certifications:
• CPR/AED/First Aid
• NFHS Concussion Awareness
• Heat Illness
• Implicit Bias Cert
• Fundamentals of Coaching Cert
• BeNice Cert
• Additional certifications or training may be required based on applicable state, NJSIAA, or district requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT & COMPENSATION Stipened as determined by the FTEA/BOE collective bargaining agreement.

• Freshman Assistant Boys Basketball Coach $7,928.33
• Junior Varsity (JV) Assistant Boys Basketball Coach $7,928.33
• Middle School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach $7,928.33
This is a temporary, seasonal coaching assignment with a fixed stipend for the contracted sport season. This position does not include year-round employment, benefits, or guaranteed continued assignment beyond the designated season/ contracted period. Stipend and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
