SAU 70 is seeking applicants for a Long Term Substitute in the Technology Department. This position runs from approximately 9/28/26 until 12/18/26, and will be working at the Richmond Middle School and Bernice A. Ray Elementary School in Hanover, New Hampshire. This role provides technical support to the users in the building, and manages a broad variety of general and technical tasks related to network use, system maintenance, user accounts and help desk management. The ideal candidate will have technical aptitude, a willingness and ability to learn new things, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide outsanding customer service to both students and staff. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:
• Provides daily assistance with a broad variety of general and technical tasks
• Meets the required, assigned schedule to promote a professional help desk experience
• Exhibits professional behavior which meets a high standard of ethics and confidentiality and contributes to a positive school climate
RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
• Assists faculty, students, parents and visitors who have needs related to the department
• Assists with the supervision of students when students are in the Lab and/or when requested
• Assists with organization of the tech department facilities, helping to keep it organized, accessible, and safe
• Familiarizes self with school and SAU policies and procedures
• Carries out other tasks as assigned
SPECIFIC TECHNOLOGY RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
• Be available to clientele via phone, email, in person, and via the helpdesk ticket system
• Troubleshoot and solve username, login, and passwords issues related to tech and personal resources
• Assist students and staff in use of printers, scanners, computers, tablets, chromebooks, cables, and other tech peripherals
• Maintain accurate inventory of resources
• Maintain confidentiality of technical resources and information
• Direct helpdesk issues that can not be solved to the appropriate party
• In coordination with the Media center staff, offer direct assistance regarding AV and peripheral connections
• Assist with department projects, specifically beginning of year and end of year deployment
• Research potential solutions to user issues
• Assign roles and permissions as they pertain to student and staff accounts
• Update the website as requested
• Communicate with staff in a variety of methods including email, in person, phone, via group discussion forums
• Develop documentation and self-serve resources for users on common issues
• Maintains accurate reservation calendar for labs, carts, devices, and staffing.
• Attend team and department meetings as requested
• Provide Media Center coverage due to absence
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude in a often chaotic and stressful environment.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience:
• One to Two (1-2) years of relevant experience

The employee will be required to meet user needs which could involve moving to a classroom locations and working with network components under desks, in ceilings, or behind furniture.
