Position: Lunch Aide Position Type: Part Time - School Year Department: School Nutrition Location: Watertown Middle School Reports to: Assistant Principal Affiliation: Non Aligned Salary range: $17.95/Hourly General Description: The Lunch Aide supports the school nutrition program by supervising students during lunch periods, assisting with meal distribution, and ensuring a safe and clean dining environment. This role involves monitoring student behavior, maintaining cleanliness in lunch areas, and collaborating with staff to create a positive and organized mealtime experience. Responsibilities:
• Supervision of lunch periods
• Assist in the delivery of lunches
• Assure the safety of students during lunch periods both inside and outside of the school building
• Assist in the clean up of the lunch areas at the end of lunch periods
• Ensure the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas during and between lunch periods.
• To sweep under tables between lunches.
• To assist students with cleaning up spills on tables and floors.
• To look for and clean spills around garbage cans and other areas that can create slip hazards.
• Communicate with custodial staff for larger spills.
• Replace trash cans, or provide additional supplies.
• Other duties as assigned by the building department
Qualifications:
• High school diploma
• Experience working with children is required
• Successful candidates must be organized and patient
Physical Demands:
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
