POSITION SUMMARY: The Family Services Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the health, family services, and community engagement components of the Head Start and Early Head Start program. This position works directly with children, families, staff, and community partners to ensure children and families receive necessary resources that promote family well-being and self-sufficiency. The individual holding this position will work on a 12 month schedule and will need to travel locally to fulfill work-related responsibilities. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed for events and travel. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a current driver's license and reliable transportation. Bilingual skills are a plus. Preferred Skills:

• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Basic competency of computer use and technology
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implements job responsibilities in accordance with federal and state regulations, agency policies and procedures, and program goals and objectives.
• Protect the confidentiality and privacy of families' data.
• Follow FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations, as they pertain to the program.
• Develops partnerships and positive relationships with staff, families, school district personnel, and community agencies to promote positive child and family outcomes.
• Report suspected or known child abuse/neglect, complying with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Participating in training events, staff meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities.
• Complete CPR/First Aid certification and renewals.
• Complete the family service credential within 18 months of hire.
• Positively promotes Murray Head Start within the school district and community.
• General office tasks.
• Other duties, as assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance)
• Monitor enrollment records to ensure compliance.
• Participate in recruitment and registration activities.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
• Monitor follow-up services and actions related to Family Services to ensure compliance.
• Support staff with family engagement activities.
HEALTH SERVICES
• Monitor health requirements and follow-up to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with medical and dental providers to support children's health needs.
• Assist staff in organizing and conducting health screenings and health-related program activities.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board policy and Murray Head Start policy of Evaluation of Personnel. Physical exam, TB test / risk assessment, background check, and drug testing are required for employment.
