Technology/Cybersecurity Specialist - Lindbergh Schools
• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• 12 months position, Monday - Friday
• Starting hourly rate: $20.98, subject to experience

Summary: The Technology Security Specialist is an entry-level position designed for an individual who has strong technology troubleshooting skills and an interest in developing expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and physical security technology. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
• Physical Security Systems:
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of video surveillance servers and related infrastructure.
• Learn to administer and maintain the district's electronic access control system, including system configuration, user access, and system operation.
• Assist with maintaining and troubleshooting integrations between video surveillance, electronic access control, and other district security systems.
• Support the district's crisis alert and incident response systems, including troubleshooting, testing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Assist with troubleshooting physical security hardware, software, servers, network connectivity, and system integrations.
• Work collaboratively with Technology, Facilities, administrators, and district safety personnel to support the effective operation of physical security systems.
• Data Privacy and Cybersecurity:
• Assist with reviewing reported phishing emails, suspicious messages, and other potential cybersecurity threats as needed.
• Assist with documenting and continually improving security practices and protocols.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, ensuring student and staff data confidentiality.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training, including phishing detection, password safety, data sharing, and other cybersecurity best practices.
• Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate, respond to, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents and potential security threats.
• Assist with researching and implementing compliant software solutions and data governance processes.
• Develop knowledge of cybersecurity trends, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats through training, professional development, and trusted cybersecurity resources.
Required Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of computers, operating systems, software, and common technology concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, or other technology-related issues.
• Strong interest in learning about cybersecurity, data privacy, and physical security technology.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and technical concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues and work toward solutions.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and accurately document work.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and learn from experienced Technology Department staff.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment when working with sensitive information and security systems.
• Commitment to continued learning and professional growth.
• Education, coursework, technical training, certifications, or experience related to information technology, computer systems, networking, cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity, data privacy, networking, servers, or physical security technology.
