Job Title: Accountant III - P-card-Fixed Asset Retirees of the Texas Teachers Retirement System (TRS) may apply. Consistent with district policy SD-7.17 “Employment of Retirees,” selected applicants are responsible for reimbursing the district, through payroll deduction, for the current rate of all TRS pension or TRS Care surcharges. As of September 1, 2025, the TRS pension surcharge rate is 16.5% and the TRS Care surcharge is $535/month. Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt Pay Group: S60 Salary Plan Primary Purpose: Perform routine accounting work. Work under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and judgement. Qualifications Education/Certification/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education (USDE). Major course work in Accounting, Business, Administration, Finance or a related field preferred. Three years full-time, wage earning experience in payroll, accounting, accounts payable, auditing, bookkeeping, or statistical analysis. Each year of experience in excess of the required three years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis. This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely. Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes preferred. Knowledge of standard accounting practices and procedures. Knowledge of WSD organizational structure preferred. Knowledge of automated financial information systems. Skills in the use of computer and related equipment in a stand-alone or local area network environment. Skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs. Skills to prepare and maintain complex records and files in an automated system. Skills to coordinate with other staff, departments, agencies, and organizations. Skills in problem-solving techniques. Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Administer the Procurement Card (Pcard) program for the District. Train WSD staff on card management, audit and reconcile Pcard purchases with monthly statement, perform Pcard reconciliation process in financial system, and prepare and provide Pcard statement to accounts payable for payment. 2. Process fixed asset transactions electronically and manually to include additions, deletions and transfers. 3. Manage and coordinate WSD unit and department annual fixed asset inventory audits. 4. Monitor the record retention requirements for vocational shop fees and Pcard requisitions for WSD units and departments annually. 5. Monitor and maintain the asset management system for WSD property and prepare annual reports. 6. Process vocational shop fee cash reports for WSD and submit to TDCJ for payment. 7. Perform other duties as assigned. Policy, reports, and Law: 10. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of job duties. 11. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties. 13. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.
