About this role
Pine Lake Preparatory is seeking a part-time Custodian/Maintenance Tech to join our Operations team. This is a day-time position, with hours to be determined. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms
• Clean offices, classrooms, and common areas of buildings
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming
• Gather and empty trash
• Assist in project cleaning, which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms
• Assist with outside cleaning, including sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash
• Operate various types of equipment and machinery, including wet vacuums, hand trucks, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers, etc.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and grounds.
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breker panels, etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide.
• Accepts other duties as may be assigned related to the scope of the job
This position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 10-50 pounds. Candidate must: 1) be able to work well with others, 2) be able to respond positively to supervision and suggestions for improvement, 3) be able to work independently, with minimal supervision and 4) have the ability to represent the school positively at various public functions on campus. Candidates must provide their own transportation to and from work. One year of janitorial experience and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. General maintenance experience is a plus.
