Job Details TITLE : Security Guard REPORTS TO: Director of Safety and Security AVAILABLE: ASAP TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: $19.48 / hr DESCRIPTION: The School Security Officer is responsible for helping provide a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors throughout the school district. The officer will maintain a visible presence on school campuses, remain available to school administration, and proactively monitor school facilities and grounds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout the school campus.
• Monitor hallways, parking lots, entrances, and other designated areas of the school district.
• Assist school administration with maintaining a safe and secure campus environment.
• Identify and report safety and security concerns and respond appropriately to incidents.
• Work cooperatively with school administrators, faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
• Coordinate and cooperate with local police departments and other emergency response agencies when appropriate.
• Assist with school safety procedures, emergency response, and security-related activities.
• Perform other security and safety duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License and maintain a safe driving record.
• Prior law enforcement training, police department experience, or professional security experience preferred.
• Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in a school environment.
. PRE-EMPLOYMENT PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS: Clearances and Physical must be within 12 months. TB must be within 90 days of hire.
