About this role
Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form. This is an opportunity to work in a building which encompasses 700 years of rich history in one of Galway's leading tourist attractions and host venues. The Participant will gain practical experience in and be trained in the following: • Welcoming, organising and assisting as a tour guide. • To meet and greet visitors • Answering the phone. • Facilitating tours of the church. • Assisting with administration duties. • Assiting with events duties • Taking payment, • Setting up and tidying up the venue for events and service. This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
