About this role
General Duties • Collecting clients of the Day Centre and transporting them to and from the Centre. • Delivery of Meals-on-Wheels as required. Warm, friendly and caring environment for clients • Be observant and alert to the needs of the clients and attend to them. • Maintain a friendly disposition. • Alert management to any issues that may cause problems or misunderstandings. • Keep a written log of all incidents, accidents, injuries, or reason for complaint and file a copy with the Manager. Transporting clients • Provide a comfortable, caring and relaxed atmosphere. • Assist clients who have mobility problems if they require assistance. • Ensure driver and passenger safety at all times. • Obey the rules of the road and drive in a safe manner having particular regard to the passengers’ comfort. • Agree the collection routes and times with the Manager. • Notify the manager as soon as possible of any deviation from agreed routes or schedules. • Should have complete knowledge of the address of each collection and drop off point. Assisting clients on outings and day trips • Ensure the clients are comfortable and at ease. • Ensure the clients are in a safe environment, appropriate to their needs. • Ensure the safety of passengers when getting onto or alighting from the vehicle.
