Job summary
The practice operates from 2 sites, so applicants need to be flexible and be prepared to travel across the sites. The practice sites are in Bennetts Castle Lane RM8 3XU and Parsloes Avenue RM9 5QP
Good customer service skills essential.
Experience working in a doctors surgery desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Candidate must be flexible and able to cover extra shifts as required for sickness and annual leave.
The times of the shifts are either 7.45am-1.15pm or 1.15 to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. The shifts may vary week to week.
To ensure that the reception area of the practice runs smoothly.
To provide a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the practice team.
Main duties of the job
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone

Qualifications Essential
Essential Education/Qualifications Minimum of 2 GCSE or at Grade C or above or equivalent in Maths and English or relevant work experience in the same field Knowledge/Experience Any proven experience in customer service role/front of house Minimum of one year in an receptionist role

Experience in healthcare setting Good verbal skills Excellent telephone manners Ability to work as part of a team Customer focus Good IT skills, able to use word and Email Knowledge of Emis Web Flexible approach Adaptable Able to use own discretion Ability to work with a wide range of professional people and patients Able to prioritise workload
