Consultant in Complex Spine Surgery

This role is essential to supporting and developing the spinal surgical practice at Barts Health NHS Trust and replaces a 0.7WTE consultant who has left the Department. This post is for a total of 7 PAs.
This post has a particular focus on spinal trauma and includes a spinal trauma subspecialty leadership role and dedicated spinal trauma clinics.
The spinal sub-specialty is a critical part of the trust's elective programme and is undergoing further development to ensure high-quality patient care.
Main duties of the job
The post is based at the Royal London Hospital. The successful candidate will also contribute to the establishment of a consultant-led designated spinal trauma rota, which is a 1:9 Consultant on the Week (COW) On Call commitment.
Applicants must possess full General Medical Council (GMC) registration and be on the Specialist Register or within six months of receiving a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview.

Clinical expertise in complex instrumented spines Ability to offer an expert clinical opinion on a range of elective and emergency problems Full independent responsibility for clinical care of patients. Instrumented trauma service for adult spines
