Job summary
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute hospital and specialist healthcare services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, Northeast Yorkshire and Ryedale, an area covering 3,400 square miles. As a Non-Executive Director (NED) your role will be to work alongside other NEDs, the Chair of the Trust and the Executive Directors as equal members of the unitary Board; using your skills, knowledge and expertise to direct the work of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You will have an important part to play in forging strong links with the Council of Governors. The Council is responsible for holding the NEDs to account, both individually and collectively, for the performance of the Board.
You will also have a clinical qualification and experience to become Chair/or Deputy Chair of the Quality Committee.
