Job summary
Eglwysbach Surgery is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive clinical team.
This is a permanent, full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 18:00.
You will work as part of our multidisciplinary primary care team, providing high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to our registered patient population across the practice.
We are looking for a nurse who is committed to delivering excellent patient care, enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to contribute to the continued development of our practice nursing services.
This role would suit an experienced Practice Nurse, as well as a registered nurse looking to develop their career within primary care. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their clinical skills and knowledge within a busy and varied GP practice environment.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
Provide a high standard of safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients. Undertake routine and complex wound care and dressings. Carry out health assessments and chronic disease reviews. Support the management of long-term conditions including diabetes, asthma, COPD and cardiovascular disease. Undertake immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national guidance and practice protocols. Carry out cervical screening. Perform blood pressure checks, ECGs, blood tests and other clinical procedures within your scope of practice. Provide health promotion, lifestyle advice and preventative healthcare. Support the practice in achieving clinical targets, quality standards and contractual requirements. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and confidential clinical records. Recognise and respond appropriately to patients whose health may be deteriorating and escalate concerns when appropriate. Work collaboratively with our GPs, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Pharmacists and wider multidisciplinary team. Participate in clinical audits, infection prevention and control, safeguarding and practice improvement activities. Contribute to the development and improvement of nursing services within Eglwysbach Surgery. Maintain professional knowledge and clinical competence through continuing professional development and appropriate training.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
We are looking for a registered nurse who is: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council NMC. Experienced in, or enthusiastic about developing a career within, general practice/primary care. Confident in assessing patients and managing a varied clinical workload. Able to work independently while also contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team. Committed to providing safe, effective and compassionate patient care. Organised, reliable and able to prioritise competing demands. A clear, professional and effective communicator. Able to build positive relationships with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals. Committed to continuing professional development and maintaining clinical competence. Flexible, approachable and able to contribute positively to the wider practice team.
