About this role

Job summary

Alexander House Surgery is looking for two or three enthusiastic salaried GPs to join our friendly and established team of nine GPs.

We have 1012 sessions available in total and welcome applications from GPs seeking either a smaller or larger number of sessions. The salary is £12,070 per session.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking practice that combines the continuity and relationships of traditional general practice with effective digital systems and modern ways of working.

We offer a positive working environment where every team member has a voice, breaks are protected and worklife balance is genuinely valued. If you are a proactive, patient-focused GP who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to the development of services, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services to our growing practice population.

The role will include a mixture of predominantly face-to-face appointments, with telephone and digital consultations where clinically appropriate. You will manage acute and long-term conditions, undertake appropriate clinical administration, contribute to preventative care and support our strong focus on population health.

Our salaried GPs and partners undertake a proportionate share of duty-doctor sessions, based on list size. The duty doctor is supported by other GPs and our multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals.

You will work collaboratively with the wider practice team, participate in clinical meetings and quality-improvement work, and have the opportunity to contribute ideas to the continued development of the practice.

About us

Alexander House Surgery is a friendly and forward-thinking two-site practice with a continually growing patient list and an established team of nine GPs.

We are committed to relationship-based general practice through our named-GP model and provide significantly more face-to-face appointments than remote consultations. Continuous digital and operational transformation enables us to maintain this approach while supporting both excellent patient care and a healthy worklife balance for our team.

We consistently achieve 99100% QOF and place practice-wide importance on population health, preventative medicine and continuous improvement. Our patient experience is reflected in consistently excellent National GP Patient Survey results, 96% good or very good Friends and Family Test feedback, and a 4.5-star Google rating.

We are a close-knit, sociable team with protected coffee breaks and lunchtimes. Every team member is valued and encouraged to help shape how the practice develops.
