Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to become a Practice Educator in CCDE. The post holder will need experience and confidence in driving learning within the Community, Cancer, Diagnostics and End of Life Division (CCDE).
The successful candidate will work closely with all of CCDE but will be predominantly linked community and providing education and support for the 2-hour response, induction, preceptorship, community clinical skills, core skills and band 3 development
The post holder will work alongside with the Quality and Service Improvement Matron, Project Support Officers and Matrons/ Therapy Leads to support and facilitate:
Core Skills Training
Induction
Preceptorship
Patient Safety Training
One-to-One Support
The post holder will need to work flexibly and agilely across the CCDE division to be able to engage all clinical teams.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multi professional learning environments within the CCDE division.
This will require the post holder to work locally within services where inter professional learning opportunities can be promoted.
You will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team who very patient safety focused. The Community Practice Educator Role will identify opportunities and lead on the delivery and review of inter professional learning opportunities.
As part of the Quality and Service Improvement Team the aim is to develop all staff to the highest standard and promote a culture of patient safety.

We operatefrom three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, andUlverstonCommunity Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Practice Educator Essential
Registered Practitioner (NMC / HCPC registered) Professional qualification, to a minimum of degree level or diploma plus relevant experience upto degree level. Teaching and Assessing Qualification or Evidence of Assessing and Supervision, Preceptorship and Performance Development Leadership experience. Practical experience of facilitating change. Experience of staff management/staff supervision. Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures. Ability to facilitate multidisciplinary relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and enthusiastic. Up to date Clinical Skills and the ability to teach o Venepuncture o Catheterisation including suprapubic o Vascular Access Devices o Medical Devices i.e., Syringe Drivers, Blood Glucose Machines o Pressure ulcer Management and Prevention Flexible / Agile Working
Desirable
Leadership course. Post Graduate certificate in Education. Change management experience. Demonstrable evidence of involvement with benchmarking and/ or audit. Knowledge and experience of the private, voluntary and independent sector. Understanding of quality improvement methodology and outcome measurement. Extended clinical skills - Cannulation, ECG, IV drug administration
