We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Operations Manager to lead our Mobile CT and MRI services across the UK. Main duties of the job
As the Clinical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and performance of CT & MRI services, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, & in line with the highest clinical standards. You will work closely with NHS & independent healthcare partners, supporting teams across multiple locations while driving continuous improvement and exceptional patient care.
Provide operational & clinical leadership across multiple mobile CT and MRI services. Ensure safe, effective, & high-quality diagnostic imaging services are delivered at all locations. Lead, motivate, & develop multidisciplinary teams, including Radiographers and Clinical Support Staff. Lead clinical teams & performance management Support with recruitment and onboarding Monitor service performance, utilisation, KPIs, patient throughput, and quality metrics. Build & maintain strong relationships with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, and key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with HCPC, CQC, IR(ME)R, Health & Safety, and company policies. Support mobilisation of new contracts and service expansions. Investigate incidents, manage risk, and implement corrective actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience. Work closely with senior leadership teams to support strategic objectives and business growth. Participate in the on-call rota, providing operational leadership and decision-making support outside core business hours.

Job description Job responsibilities
Purpose of the role
Ensures the delivery of safe, effective, patient-centred imaging services. Provides visible clinical leadership and support to the imaging team. Works closely with the Head of Service Delivery to ensure services are staffed with competent, knowledgeable staff who are focused on patient care and clinical outcomes.
Clinical Services
Ensures all services are compliant with regulatory standards, including CQC and IR(ME)R, IRR and MRI safety requirements.
Acts as the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and leads on radiation and MRI safety across the services.
Develops, implements and reviews clinical protocols, policies and procedures.
Leads the training, supervision, mentoring and professional development of radiology staff.
Promotes and monitors continuous professional development (CPD), clinical supervision and peer review.
Participates in the clinical workload, performing high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations (approximately 2 days per month).
Operational
Supports the Head of Service Delivery to manage staffing, rotas, and workforce planning.
Provides clinical input when mobilising services, linking with customers and business development managers.
Supports the recruitment of clinical staff, including reviewing CVs, interviews and offers alongside the HR and operational teams.
Oversees compliance and works with Service Delivery Team to ensure staff meet the standards at all times.
Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise service delivery.
Quality and Governance
Works closely with the Quality and Clinical Governance Lead to drive quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities and clinical audits.
Monitors and reports on KPIs and contributes to service development and business planning.
Manages clinical services budgets, revenue capture, stock control and resource utilisation.
Investigates incidents, complaints and risks.
Is the designated safeguarding lead &Caldicott guardian.
Holding secondary providers to account, monitoring KPIs and ensuring they meet quality standards.
Chairing meetings.
Writing and presenting reports.
Leadership
Acts as a role model, demonstrating high standards of work.
Leads and promotes a culture of continuous improvement in clinical governance, safety and quality management.
Ensures staff have access to appropriate training, support, and development opportunities.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification to meet registration requirements. Active HCPC registration. Leadership qualification or equivalent experience.
Desirable
Radiation protection supervisor (RPS) training Caldicott guardian training Previous experience as a CQC registered manager or nominated individual
Experience Essential
Competent with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to analyse complex data and write and present reports Evidence of ongoing CPD in leadership/managers and clinical specialisms.
