Skill and Knowledge: Expected to be skilled in the techniques used in a variety of trades. (i.e. journeyman level carpentry and plumbing skills, and at intermediate level skill in other trades work. Operate a variety of motorized vehicles. Major DutiesDuties are performed independently in accordance with accepted trade practices and guides. Employee uses judgment to perform duties and resolve most problems that occur.Serves as Maintenance Mechanic providing maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.Makes visual inspections of fixtures and appurtenances as well as building shell, components, and surrounding areas to determine condition and nature and extent of repairs required.Estimates material and equipment required. Utilizes skills and knowledge of a variety of trades primarily of journeyman, carpentry and plumbing skills and other trades of intermediate skill level, such as mechanical, electrical, and painting.Operates various types and sizes of motor vehicle and industrial equipment associated with maintenance work requirements.
