QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Knowledge of primary prevention principles, sexual assault dynamic, and local social services delivery systems, concepts, principles and theories and community resources for sexual assault, victim advocacy, and the prevention and response to provide one-on-one victim advocacy assistance and information to sexual assault victims. - Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual harassment. - Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues etc. to include the DoN organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual harassment victim advocacy. - Knowledge of various instruction techniques and evaluation method design, and skill in using evaluation methods to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of training courses. Major DutiesYou will demonstrate understanding of trauma related to sexual violence and related complexities.You will apply basic strategies for skilled communication, including developing rapport and actively listening to provide initial victim advocacy services.You will accept official reports of sexual assault by assisting the victim in completing all the required documentation.You will perform a series of complex assessments using trauma-informed approaches for all reports of adult sexual assault.You will provide assistance to victims in securing medical treatment for physical and psychological injuries.You will inform victims of the resources available to report instances of sexual assault related retaliation, reprisal, ostracism, maltreatment, sexual harassment, or to request a transfer.You will develop detailed case management plans with short and long-term goals and objectives and engage in ongoing support activities tailored to the victim's needs.You will collaborate and consult with other SAPR personnel on the installation to ensure efficient service delivery, manage caseloads and meet reporting requirements.You will record training attendance, disseminate, collect and support analysis of course evaluations, coordinate guest speakers and support marketing and communication efforts.
