Job SummaryThis position is located in the Risk Management Agency (RMA), Deputy Administrator for Compliance (DAC) Special Investigations Staff(SIS). The incumbent for this position will serve for the Central Regional Compliance Office (CO, KS, MO, NE), the Southern Regional Compliance Office (AR, LA, MS, NM, OK, TN, TX), or the Western Regional Compliance Office (AK, AZ, CA, HI, ID, NV, OR, UT, WA). Duty location is negotiable and MUST be within one of the above listed states.

Time-in-Grade Requirement: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. You must meet this requirement by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience Requirement For the GS-13 grade level: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service or comparable experience not gained through federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience conducting complex, large scale multi-agency investigations that relate to crop insurance (civil and/or criminal fraud); conducting face to face interviews; and initiating and conducting research, compiling and analyzing data, method planning, interpreting findings, and culminating in composing final reports on complex crop insurance programs. Major DutiesDraft and review sanctions/administrative findings and prepare any referrals for possible criminal and/or civil prosecution.Serve as a liaison with outside stakeholders, including, but not limited to: Approved Insurance Agencies, USDA-OIG, USDA-Office of the General Counsel, the US Department of Justice, and any State or local government agencies.Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for federal crop insurance program investigations.Conduct complex, large scale multi government investigations that relate to crop insurance civil and criminal fraud.Interviewing individuals in person with and without law enforcement assistance.RequirementsYou must be a US Citizen or US National.
