About this role
Summary We're looking for an Assistant Land Use & Nature Delivery Partner to join our team in the Midlands & East of England region, and support nature-recovery work.
You'll join the Restore Nature Specialist Delivery team during an exciting period as we implement our “People and Nature Thriving” strategy, which aims to create 250,000 hectares of nature-rich habitat across and beyond National Trust land, and support nature restoration at Dunwich Heath post wildfire.
You'll work 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term contract until 1st November 2028.
What it's like to work here You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen.
As this role covers the East of England part of the Midlands and East of England region, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
You'll support projects across the East of England. As 15 hours per week of this role are funded through the Dunwich Heath Wildfire Recovery programme, you'll spend the equivalent of 2 days per week working directly on site or supporting work related to Dunwich Heath.
What you'll be doing Working alongside the Land Use & Nature Specialist Delivery Partners, you’ll provide specialist land management advice to restore nature at a landscape scale.
You’ll be working closely with your specialist delivery and operational colleagues to plan and deliver the best outcomes for nature, supporting those adopting low carbon and nature friendly farming alongside habitat creation and restoration to deliver our Restore Nature goals.
You may also represent the National Trust in regional collaborations and use your network of partners and contractors to support large-scale restoration.
Who we're looking for To deliver this role successfully, you'll need:
