Summary This is an exciting time to join the team at Hardwick Hall ahead of our busy winter season, as we develop our visitor experience, engagement and connections to our fantastic historic hall, collections & wider estate. Working within a bustling atmosphere as part of passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic exceptional service and growing support.
Your role will be vital to supporting the opening of Hardwick Wintertide. You'll be working in the Hall, engaging visitors and providing operational support. There are 18 contracts available.
This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
The usual working pattern is Sunday to Thursday, 9:00am - 4:00pm, and Friday and Saturday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm, including late-night openings on Fridays and Saturdays throughout December.

What you'll be doing Visitors are at the heart of everything we do and, as a charity, every pound we raise helps us care for and protect places like Hardwick Hall. You'll welcome visitors to our Wintertide experience, share stories about the Hall, its collections and seasonal narrative, and help deliver an exceptional visitor experience. You'll work closely with colleagues and volunteers to prepare the Hall each day, maintain the Wintertide installations, and ensure displays continue to look their best throughout the festive season.
Wintertide is one of our busiest times of year, so we're looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and enjoys a varied role. One day you might be greeting visitors and bringing the Hall's history to life, while the next you're helping with the practical upkeep of the experience behind the scenes. You'll also learn how to work safely and sensitively within a historic setting, helping to protect our collections while creating memorable experiences for visitors.
