The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior in our Lewes office. As an Audit Senior you will be working on a varied and good quality portfolio of audit clients, within the owner-managed corporates, not for profit and charities, the Audit Senior will work alongside Audit Managers on key and mid-tier accounts. The position will be in a client facing role, establishing strong relationships with a significant number of business owners across the region.
Key responsibilities of an Audit Senior will include:
Take a lead on the audit process from planning through to completion Undertake non audit assignments, including accounts preparation and tax computationsPrepare a job to meaningful and realistic budgets, liaising with Manager on any issuesDemonstrate good utilisation of relevant softwareDemonstrate an awareness and some understanding of the clients business and manage each job to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met Assist in the development of others, particularly trainees through providing thoughtful feedback on jobs, offering coaching and support as necessary and supporting the Manager with useful, constructive feedback as appropriateSharing best practice and ideas within the team for process improvement and development of each otherCommunicate verbally and in writing with clientsEffectively manages Partner and Manager expectations, communicating regularly on progress of jobsRemain informed about legislative, technical and regulatory changes and share knowledge amongst the team
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
ACA / ACCA qualified Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an Audit capacity, ideally in PracticeGood level of technical knowledge of Audit & Accounting standardsKnowledge of accounting systems and control environments within a finance functionPrevious knowledge of the charities and academy sector would be advantageousFamiliar with accounting software including Sage and Xero Previous use of CCH and Caseware would be an advantageStrong Excel skills – including vlookup, sumif and Pivot TablesAbility to communicate and engage with clients in a professional but personable mannerStrong organisational skills and attention to detailEngaging communication style & active listener Must have the ability to drive and access to own transport as travel to client sites will be necessary
