Trenergy Inc. is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team in St. Catharines. This is a newly created position and a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their career in a hands-on heavy fabrication and manufacturing environment.
Trenergy is a 100% locally owned fabrication company specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, structural steel, and custom-fabricated products.
You won't be sitting on the sidelines. You'll work closely with our drafting, project management, estimating, quality, and production teams to help take projects from drawings to the shop floor.
*What You'll Do*
* Create and revise 2D and 3D mechanical and fabrication drawings * Prepare detailed shop and fabrication drawings from specifications, sketches, and engineering information * Draft components and assemblies for boilers, pressure vessels, structural steel, and custom fabrication projects * Add dimensions, tolerances, materials, weld details, and other fabrication requirements * Interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements * Work directly with our production team to address drawing and fabrication questions * Make drawing revisions as projects progress * Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material take-offs * Assist Project Management and Estimating with technical information * Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability * Help improve and standardize our drafting and documentation processes * Maintain organized project drawings and technical records
*What We're Looking For*
We're looking for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and practical ? someone who understands that a good drawing needs to work not only on paper but also on the shop floor.
*Required:*
* Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology, or related experience in a manufacturing environment * Experience with AutoCAD and/or 3D CAD software * Ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings * Strong understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and welding symbols * Strong attention to detail * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
*Experience in any of the following is considered an asset:*
* Heavy manufacturing or fabrication * Pressure vessels or boilers * Structural steel * Welding and fabrication * ASME codes and standards * AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD programs
