Job Title: General Accountant Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Salary: $60,000 Industry: Consumer Goods Overview We are currently recruiting on behalf of an organization in the Toronto area within the consumer goods sector seeking a General Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, this role is ideal for a proactive team player who takes ownership of their work, asks thoughtful questions, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key operational role handling day-to-day data entry, core bookkeeping duties, and high-volume vendor and customer communications. Key Responsibilities • Execute daily transactional accounting activities, including accurate data entry, customer invoicing, and vendor bill processing • Conduct daily bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure financial records are current • Manage the general accounting email inbox, responding promptly to internal and external inquiries • Assist with month-end routines and prepare high-level GST/HST sales tax reporting • Maintain clean audit trails and accurate master data within the NetSuite ERP system • Partner closely with the Senior Accountant to resolve discrepancies and streamline operational workflows Qualifications • 2-4 years of practical accounting experience, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or distribution • Hands-on experience using NetSuite or a similar cloud-based ERP system • Solid understanding of core AP/AR processes, basic ledger mechanics, and high-level GST/HST compliance • Inquisitive mindset with a strong sense of personal ownership and high attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, service-oriented attitude Compensation • $60,000 annually, plus benefits package
