The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a key role in providing safe, compassionate and high-quality nursing care while providing clinical leadership to the care team. Through strong clinical knowledge, assessment, critical thinking and person-centred care, the RN supports residents' health, comfort, dignity and quality of life while working collaboratively with residents, families and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
The Leamington Mennonite Home is a faith-based long-term care and retirement community founded in 1965 to support seniors in aging with dignity. Today, we serve 273 residents across a range of housing and care options.

*Qualifications*
* Current registration in good standing as a *Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)*. * Current CPR and First Aid certification. * Experience working in long-term care, retirement living, gerontology or a related healthcare setting is an asset. * Knowledge of applicable nursing standards, medication administration, infection prevention and control, documentation, resident safety and quality-of-care practices. * Knowledge of person-centred care principles and experience supporting individuals living with dementia and responsive behaviours is an asset. * Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. * Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to provide clinical direction and support to members of the care team. * Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and documentation skills. * Ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment while collaborating effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. * Ability to effectively prioritize and respond to changing resident needs and clinical situations. * Good physical health and fitness appropriate for the position and the ability to safely perform the physical requirements of resident care.
*Areas of Responsibility*
* Provide safe, compassionate and resident-centred nursing care in accordance with residents' individual plans of care. * Complete nursing assessments, monitor changes in resident condition and determine appropriate nursing interventions. * Provide clinical leadership, guidance and direction to Registered Practical Nurses, Personal Support Workers and other members of the care team during assigned shifts. * Coordinate resident care and support effective communication among residents, families, nursing staff, physicians, Nurse Practitioners and other members of the interdisciplinary team. * Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with authorized orders, organizational policies and applicable professional standards. * Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition, incidents, emergencies and other clinical concerns. * Foster positive and professional relationships with residents, families, physicians, volunteers and colleagues. * Contribute to a respectful, safe and supportive environment that reflects LMH's mission and values.
