The Ministry is seeking a motivated Equipment Operator to join the Qu'Appelle Section and help maintain provincial roads, highways, and airports. The successful candidate will be safety-focused, dependable, and able to work collaboratively while coordinating daily crew activities and equipment operations. Candidates must possess a valid Class 1A driver's licence and knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, workplace safety, traffic control procedures, and basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems. Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and safety skills are required. Responsibilities include coordinating and assigning crew work, operating and maintaining heavy equipment such as tandem trucks, graders, loaders, and snowplows, performing highway maintenance and snow and ice removal, monitoring equipment use, and maintaining operational records and logs.
