Child Care Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic *Child Care Supervisor* to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will support the daily operations of the centre while providing strong leadership to educators and maintaining a positive environment for children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and support the daily operations of the child care centre. * Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to educators. * Ensure compliance with the *CCEYA*, licensing requirements, centre policies, and health and safety procedures. * Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, breaks, attendance, and maintaining required staff-to-child ratios. * Support educators with programming, classroom management, documentation, and positive behaviour guidance. * Ensure programming incorporates *How Does Learning Happen?* and the foundations of Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement, and Expression. * Maintain professional and positive communication with children, families, employees, and management. * Address staff or parent concerns professionally and escalate concerns to management when appropriate. * Support enrolment, classroom numbers, transitions, and administrative documentation. * Assume supervisory responsibilities and oversee centre operations when required. * Support kitchen operations and ensure food-handling, allergy, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed. * Perform additional duties as required to support the effective operation of the centre.
Qualifications
* Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree. * Registered and in good standing with the *College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)*. * Minimum *2 years of experience* in a licensed child care centre; leadership or supervisory experience preferred. * Knowledge of *CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and AQI*. * Valid *Standard First Aid and CPR-C* certification. * Valid *Food Handler Certificate* or willingness to obtain one. * Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Comfortable working with various age groups and supporting children with diverse needs and behaviours. * Ability to remain professional, organized, and effective in a busy child care environment. * Flexible availability Monday to Friday between *7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.*

Education: * DCS / DEC (preferred)
Experience: * Childcare Supervisor: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification: * Early Childhood Educator (RECE) registration with the CECE (required)
