About this role
*Overview*
We are seeking an experienced and reliable *Cook* to join our long-term care home located *10 minutes south of Saskatoon*. The ideal candidate will have *previous experience working in a long-term care home or healthcare food service setting*, a strong understanding of food safety, and a passion for preparing nutritious meals for seniors.
This position requires *11-hour shifts*, *weekend availability*, and candidates must be based in/around the Saskatoon area.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Prepare and cook meals according to residents' dietary needs and prescribed food textures. * Follow food safety and sanitation standards. * Assist with meal preparation and kitchen organization. * Ensure meals are served accurately and on time. * Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen. * Assist with inventory and support other kitchen staff as needed.
*Qualifications*
* Minimum *1 year of cooking experience*, preferably in a long-term care or healthcare setting. * Knowledge of food safety and dietary requirements. * Strong teamwork and communication skills. * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
*Requirements*
* Experience working in a long-term care or healthcare food service environment is preferred. * Availability to work *11-hour shifts*, including weekends. * Food Handler Certification (Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent) is mandatory. * A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check is required prior to employment.
