HARDSCAPE INSTALLER / SKILLED LABOURER
Bennett Lawn & Landscape ? Stittsville and Ottawa West
Pay: [$26?$32/hour], based on demonstrated capability
Bennett Lawn & Landscape is hiring an experienced hardscape installer to join our established crew. This is not an entry-level labour position. We need a second skilled person who can take ownership of major installation phases after the lead hand sets the plan and priorities.
WHAT YOU?LL DO
* Prepare and compact aggregate bases correctly * Set and verify elevations and drainage slopes with a laser * Screed bedding material and lay pavers accurately * Measure, mark and make clean cuts safely * Operate a skid steer and mini excavator * Anticipate upcoming work and identify problems early * Help demonstrate tasks to less-experienced crew members when directed by the lead hand * Learn Bennett?s specific methods for walls, steps and specialty installations
REQUIRED
* Practical hardscape construction experience * Understanding of excavation, geotextile, base preparation and compaction * Ability to use a laser level, screed, lay pavers and complete accurate cuts * Competent skid-steer and mini-excavator operation * Able to complete assigned work without constant supervision * Reliable transportation to the assigned yard or jobsite * Physically capable of demanding outdoor construction work * Reliable, coachable and attentive to quality
PREFERRED
* 2+ years of install experience * Experience guiding junior workers * Experience on high-quality residential projects
