Your story starts here.The OpportunityReporting to the Director of Planning and Development Services, the Planner, Community Planning is responsible for administering and implementing the Town's land use planning and development framework.As a key member of the Planning and Development Services team, you will: Review and process development permit and other statutory planning applications. Administer and interpret the Town's Land Use Bylaw and planning policies. Provide professional planning advice to residents, developers, businesses, Council, and administration. Prepare reports and recommendations for the Development Authority, Subdivision Authority, Committees, and Council. Assist with statutory planning initiatives, policy development, and Land Use Bylaw updates. Coordinate public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities. Support community growth initiatives that advance Council priorities and long-term community development objectives.The full job description is available www.highlevel.ca/jobsWhat We're Looking ForYour educational background includes a degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Community Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, or a related discipline.Membership, or eligibility for membership, with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI) is considered a strong asset.Your experience includes: Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning, development services, land use planning, or a related field. Experience reviewing development permits, subdivision applications, and planning-related approvals. Experience preparing reports and recommendations for senior leadership, boards, committees, or Cou
