QualificationsYou may qualify for this position with specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 performing at least 4 out of 5 of the following: Leading teams; Preparing for and conducting interviews with investigative sources and prospective witnesses; Performing factual research to supply information for inclusion in memoranda, briefs, and similar legal documents; Providing technical legal support to attorneys in preparation for trial; Performing preliminary screening of substantive materials prior to review by attorneys. IMPORTANT: A full year of work is 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited based on time spent in appropriate activities. Major DutiesThe Antitrust Division is seeking to fill a Supervisory Paralegal Specialist position in our New York Field Office. Within the Division, Supervisory Paralegal Specialists perform legal duties in support of attorneys engaged in antitrust cases and matters. As a Supervisory Paralegal Specialist, you will: Analyze factual and legal questions to assist attorneys in investigations and in preparing for litigation. Direct and/or perform a variety of legal assistance and technical work requiring a specialized knowledge of process, procedure, and practices to support legal activities. Utilize document review platforms. Perform supervisory duties including interviewing applicants, resolving employee complaints, invoking minor disciplinary measures, and identifying training needs. Provide advice on the most effective and efficient ways to prepare, present, and maintain a variety of administrative legal documents.
