To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by designing analytical studies to provide detailed cost projections for the agency; using mathematical type models to analyze the life cycle and economic costs of major equipment/systems; creates computerized models to track equipment from production through disposal. Basic Requirement for COST ESTIMATOR: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. This position is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
Major DutiesLeads the cost estimation team to design and perform various analytical studies and cost estimates using scientific methods to derive detailed cost projections.Develops and structures the problem, establishes procedures for obtaining data, and determines variables that are relevant to the problem.Performs a broad range of cost and/or economic analysis assignments involving unique problems, requirements for creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches.Responsible for establishing working relationships to support and resolve problems and difficulties.
